Into The Reality Distortion Field

I like following the Apple buzz, which is at a fever right now with Steve Job's MacWorld speech only an hour away. There isn't a live webcast, which I wouldn't be able to see live since I am at work. So, I am doing the next best thing and following the chat on an IRC channel using my Pocket PC and Pocket IRC.

Surfing On The Pocket PC

I am one of those freeks that actually surfs the web on my Pocket PC, hence this weblog. For my money the best news site for the Pocket PC is Yahoo's. They have been updating the site and adding new features.

Moblogging

That previous post is my first attempt at moblogging. I took the picture using my IPAQ H6315 and emailed it to this blog over T-Mobile's network. It all worked very slick, though oddly enough I cannot see picture on the main page when I open the site on my Pocket PC. I do see the picture when I tap the permalink link.

Keeping It Even

Dear podcasters, please find a way to keep your sound output at a consistent level. It is really annoying to have to constantly change the volume whenever the podcast's sound goes up or down. One really notices this when they are listening to hours of podcasts in a car. [Written from McDonalds in St. Ignace, Michigan]

Updated Driver

Today I happened to check Think Outside's web site and noticed they had a 4.0 version of their Bluetooth keyboard driver. I downloaded and installed it on my iPAQ H6315 with hopes that some of the bugs that affected the keyboard from working with my 6315 were fixed. So far I am happy to report that appears the bugs are fixed. I can now power off my IPAQ and turn it back on and the keyboard re-establishes a connection.

Big House Wi-Fi

So you think your home network is cool. What about Wi-Fi at the Big House? I am at Michigan Stadium, waiting to watch Michigan Tech play Grand Valley State. I turned the Wi-Fi Radio on and found an access point. It might be that is in the press box that I am sitting next to, the stadium may be covered.

Cruising

I've been in Valparaiso Indiana the last couple of days, using T-mobile's GPRS service as my main method of connecting to the Internet. I've been pleasantly surprised by the connection speeds of near dial-up. I am told that the next time that I am in Valpo the downtown will be a hotspot.
